Customs Clearance
Efficient Customs Clearance: Document Handling
Our Shipping Price Estimate and Service Fee do not cover customs duties, taxes, and other import charges.
Customs declarations are required for all non-EU shipments, as well as to EU destinations that are not part of the EU customs union.
Customs fees, duties, and taxes may apply depending on your destination country, the value and type of your items, and local regulations. Because each country has its own rules, we cannot guarantee the exact amount in advance—but we’re here to guide you wherever possible.
- .Shipping within the European Union:
Good news! Shipments within the European Union do not require customs clearance. This means no customs fees, duties, or additional taxes for European Union destinations.
- .Shipping outside the European Union:
For non-European Union countries, your shipment will go through customs, and local authorities may apply import fees. These charges are based on your local customs rules.
- When are customs fees collected?
Typically, customs fees (if any) are collected at the time of delivery. In some cases, you may be notified in advance and can pay online, depending on the carrier and your country’s process.

- Tip:
For the most accurate information, we recommend checking with your country’s customs agency before shipping. This helps avoid surprises and ensures a smooth delivery experience.
- Parcel Forwarding Rules for Non-European Union Customers importing Packages from outside European Union to EuropaForwards
EuropaForwards cannot accept or forward packages imported from outside the European Union (EU) to Germany or Poland. This is because, under European Union regulations, we would bear liability for these imports for up to 10 years. Additionally, the law requires that the actual purchaser (the person who paid for the items) must be the importer of record,
Exceptions:
- If you are a resident of Germany or Poland with a valid local tax ID and EORI number, you may import goods directly.
- Alternatively, you may appoint a customs clearance broker (acting as an indirect representative) to handle the import on your behalf.
Any packages arriving from outside the European Union without appropriate import arrangements will be automatically rejected.
Count on EuropaForwards for efficient customs document handling and a smooth customs clearance experience. We prioritize your convenience every step of the way.
- .Upload your invoice for faster processing
For all prepaid packages arriving at our German or Polish warehouse, uploading the invoice ensures smooth handling and ICS2 compliance.
